Ashley Allison News
During the first Republican presidential debate on Wednesday, Jason Osborne, a former campaign consultant to Donald Trump, said there’s a good chance the former president will turn himself into authorities in Georgia.
This Thursday, Trump was charged in Fulton County for attempting to rig the state’s 2020 election. Two days after the debate on Fox News, on Friday, August 25, he must present himself for booking. Trump has stated that he will boycott the event on the network because he believes it to be “hostile” to him.
Osborne and former Obama administration employee Ashley Allison discussed the issue on Friday’s episode of The Source with CNN’s Kaitlan Collins.
Regarding the debate, Collins stated that “Donald Trump right now, is not expected to show up.” He has till Monday at 9:00 p.m. to formally announce it, I suppose. Candidates are sort of required to get ready. Does he arrive? Does not he? They appear to be getting ready for two different discussions.
Allison added, “I don’t think they should be, though. Regardless of Donald Trump, I believe you should have a very clear idea of what you want to do as president. And whether he appears on the debate stage or not, that statement must clearly state, “I’m either going to say Donald Trump was wrong.”
Osborne responded, “I agree,” before putting out a crazy notion. “I predict Donald Trump will turn himself in either just before the debate or during the debate, which will suck all the oxygen out of the room. I’m [at] around a 30% probability this is going to happen. After that, Fox is forced to broadcast the debate while you and other networks may point out that Donald Trump actually just turned himself in. Then there is Tucker Carlson, who is ready to question him there on the courthouse steps.
Collins responded by pointing out that the Fulton County jail is open around-the-clock.
Indictments against Trump are pending in four different countries, including two federal ones.
