Bray Wyatt News
Windham Rotunda, better known as Bray Wyatt, passed away at age 36.
Wyatt, whose true name was Windham Rotunda, has been absent in action for a number of months as a result of what is thought to be a serious illness.
Bray Wyatt, a former WWE champion, passed away at the age of 36, according to Chief Content Officer Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque’s social media posts. Wyatt, whose original name was Windham Rotunda, was removed from WWE TV in February and has been MIA ever since, reportedly suffering from a serious illness. Recent sources stated that he was nearing his in-ring return before his tragic death.
Levesque posted on X, now known as Twitter, “Just received a call from WWE Hall of Famer Mike Rotunda who informed us of the tragic news that our WWE family member for life Windham Rotunda — also known as Bray Wyatt — unexpectedly passed away earlier today.” “Our thoughts are with his family, and we ask that everyone respect their right to privacy at this time.”
In 2010, Rotunda joined the main roster as a member of the ‘The Nexus’ stable under the ring name ‘Husky Harris’ after joining the promotion in 2009 as a developmental prospect. However, Wyatt’s career didn’t really take off until he released The Wyatt Family in 2014 alongside Luke Harper and Erick Rowan. Before leaving the company in 2021, he would carry the “Bray Wyatt” character by giving it additional depth by introducing a sinister alter ego known as “The Fiend.” During this time, Rotunda won two WWE championships and competed in major WrestleMania matchups against The Undertaker, John Cena, and Randy Orton.
Rotunda’s debut as The Wyatt family won him over with the fans right away. The gimmick was regarded as the ‘next Undertaker’ because of his dark and twisted character, which was a breath of fresh air. He would enter the arena holding a lantern as the lights went out, to the sound of ominous music. A skill that very few wrestlers have mastered, he coined the catchphrases “Follow the Buzzards” and “He’s got the whole world in his hands,” which really demonstrated his capacity to influence the behavior of the crowd. Rotunda introduced “The Fiend,” a spooky figure donning a horror mask, in 2019. Even when a more relaxed “Bray Wyatt” presented the family-friendly farce known as The Firefly, The Fiend emerged as one of WWE TV’s most divisive characters.
After taking a year off from the company, Rotunda was welcomed back in 2022 to great acclaim. In his second performance after his comeback, he made an emotional speech to the WWE arena. He kept a few matches on hand because the angle suggested that the enigmatic “Uncle Howdy” was haunting him. The plot, however, came to a sudden end when Rotunda vanished, forcing the cancellation of his bout against Bobby Lashley at WrestleMania 39. Around the same time, rumors that he had a terrible illness were beginning to circulate. Before the awful news came out, he had been dormant for the previous six months.
Rotunda was a third-generation wrestler from a family with a strong history in wrestling. He was regarded as one of the most inventive and creative brains in professional wrestling. While his Hall of Fame father Mike was a well-known personality in the 1990s as Irwin R Schyster, his grandfather Robert Windham wrestled as “Blackjack Mulligan” in the 1980s. Even Barry and Kendall Windham, his uncles, were all wrestlers. From 2008 to 2021, his brother Taylor Michael Rotunda, also known as Bo Dallas, worked for the WWE. Rotunda leaves behind his wife Jojo Offerman, a former ring announcer for the WWE, and their two children. He was formerly married to Samantha Rotunda from 2012 to 2017. They had two children together.
