Caitlin Foord joined the Central Coast Mariners at the age of 16 for the 2009 W-League season, but she made no appearances for the team. She joined Sydney FC the next season along with a number of other Mariners players, and she spent four seasons there. Foord participated in 44 games while playing for Sydney FC, where she scored 10 goals. In November 2010, Sydney FC defeated Adelaide United 4-1, and she scored her maiden goal for the team.
For the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL)’s first season, Foord signed with the American team Sky Blue FC in 2013. During that campaign, she made 15 appearances for Sky Blue FC, and she was selected for the 2013 NWSL Second XI Team. For the 2014 campaign, Foord rejoined Sky Blue FC and started 20 of the 21 games.
Samantha Kerr and Foord both committed to rejoin Sky Blue FC in 2015, however their participation was postponed because of the FIFA Women’s World Cup that year. The final 10 games of the 2015 NWSL season included Foord. She missed the 2016 season due to an injury, and she decided not to play in the NWSL in 2017 after joining Vegalta Sendai Ladies in Japan.
Foord returned to Sydney FC in December 2017 for the 2017–18 W-League season, but she sustained an injury in the semi-final that prevented her from playing in the grand final. For the 2019–20 season, she briefly went back to play for Sydney FC before joining Arsenal in January 2020.
On February 23, 2020, Foord made her Arsenal debut in a 2-0 FA Cup victory over Lewes. In the same game, she scored her first goal for Arsenal. Foord continued to excel for Arsenal during the 2020–21 season, scoring significant goals, including a brace against Tottenham Hotspur in a 6–1 triumph.
