Geoff Castellucci Career

Geoff Castellucci is an American singer and pianist who performs as the group’s bass voice in the Cappella group VoicePlay. He is probably best known to the world as a member of that ensemble. His voice can go up and down more than five octaves.

Geoff Castellucci was born in Alexandria, Virginia, on August 27, 1980. He hasn’t talked much about his parents or brothers, other than to remark that they helped him pursue his initial artistic ambitions.

He first began playing the piano at his grandfather’s New York home when he was just five years old. He was also interested in breakdancing, although his dancing abilities lagged well behind his musical abilities. Geoff’s parents enrolled him in local classical and jazz piano lessons after learning of these skills. From that point on, he developed a passion for singing and joined the chorus in middle school, when he first encountered a cappella singing.

He learned how to sing bass in high school, where he also met the people who would become his famous VoicePlay bandmates.

Career Beginnings

Geoff, Layne Stein, and Earl Elkins were the founding members when the band was founded in Orlando, Florida, in the early 2010s. Later additions to the lineup included Eli Jacobsen and Cesar De La Rosa. As different artists came and went over the years, a number of adjustments were made.

The group began playing at neighborhood clubs, developed a following, and recorded their music. Geoff, whose low voice occasionally imitated a bass guitar, was known as the bass-man as they gradually gained in popularity. They began touring the US as they gained notoriety, and have since completed eight national tours. The trio has earned numerous accolades and was a finalist on season four of NBC’s “The Sing-Off” as well as the 2019 Shorty Awards for YouTube Musician of the Year.

Additionally, they started a YouTube channel and have been uploading their own songs there. Their videos have received close to 200 million views, and they currently have more than a million subscribers. Numerous other videos that have only boosted Geoff’s fame and wealth include “This Is Halloween| The Nightmare Before Christmas,” which has had around 8.5 million views, “Road Trip,” which has been viewed about nine million times, and “Moana Medley ft. Rachel Potter,” which has over 38 million views.

Geoff has worked independently as well as with the group. He started a YouTube channel that has more than 280,000 subscribers. He has played a variety of cover songs and also read some poems, including “Raven” by Edgar A. Poe, advice for people pursuing a similar career, and cover songs. His most watched videos include “Sixteen Tonnes,” which has just under six million views, “Far Over the Misty Mountains Cold,” with three million views, and “How to Sing Really Low,” with one million views. A Brief Tutorial,” among other well-liked videos, has received two million views.
