HNBGU Campus

Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University has three main campuses which are present in Pauri, Srinagar and Chamba.

All the main activities take place in these three campuses.  Out of which the most important campus is the present Chauras Campus in Srinagar.
All other PG colleges are attached to this main campus.

History of HNBGU

In 1973, when Uttarakhand was still a part of Uttar Pradesh, the government of that state created HNBGU as a state university. Four component colleges made up what was formerly known as Garhwal University: Birla Vidya Mandir, DAV College,TBRI College and Government College. As a tribute to the late Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna, who served as the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh and Union Minister of India, it was renamed Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University in 1989.
