The reason why Halle Berry and Olivier Martinez’s divorce is about to happen has been made public. The former couple filed for divorce three years after they got married, but the proceedings dragged on because of disputes over who would get custody of their now-9-year-old son Maceo. However, documents that E! News was able to obtain on August 23 show that the two had finally come to an agreement.
Maceo will share joint physical and legal custody with Berry and Martinez. In addition, the contract states that the Catwoman actress will pay for Maceo’s tuition, school uniforms, and supplies for as long as he attends a private school, as well as pay Martinez $8,000 a month in child support and “4.3 percent of any income she receives above $2,000,000.” In the agreements, football is expressly identified as an extracurricular activity that Berry will also be responsible for funding.
