Tezlyn Figaro News

The Breakfast Club hosts put GOP presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy to the test by questioning him on his eligibility to serve as president in 2024.

Ramaswamy, a former biotech entrepreneur who is now running for president, has long been plagued by the question of what makes him fit to hold the office given his paucity of political experience.

During their occasionally tense conversation with Ramaswamy on Friday, Charlamagne Tha God, DJ Envy, and Tezlyn Figaro had the same issue on their minds.

Figaro began the interrogation by mentioning that she is a former member of the U.S. Air Force and wanted to know what kind of community service Ramaswamy has performed that would qualify him for a prospective presidency. Figaro thought it odd “sitting around” that Ramaswamy, who is currently 37 years old, had not even voted until 2020 at the start of their conversation.

In addition to mentioning student council as a prior leadership position, he stated, “I’ve held leadership roles over the course of my life, but those don’t qualify me to do what I’m doing now.”

“It kind of does,” Figaro said.

Ramaswamy added that he has also served as the leader of several businesses.

He clarified Figaro’s remark that he had been “sitting around” during his years of abstaining from voting.

“I didn’t just sit around. Five of the medicines I’ve created are currently FDA-approved goods, one of which is a therapy that can save children’s lives and another is for prostate cancer, according to Ramaswamy. “I don’t feel bad about contributing.”

“Don’t filibuster that, please. Because I didn’t ask that question, and I don’t think about it – I’m a veteran, therefore I’m talking about service. I’m not referring to what you did to make money, Figaro stated.

Figaro and Ramaswamy started talking over one another until Envy intervened and allowed Figaro to re-ask her inquiry.

“You want individuals to have civic involvement and a sense of pride in their nation. Figaro remarked, mentioning service, “I just find it very telling that you haven’t had any civic engagement at all.

“I want to alter public perceptions of politicians. It’s not enough to merely be on the student council, she continued. “Were you a leader, all of that applies. And when I see that someone hasn’t done anything at all to be of service to mankind, to take a leadership role, it’s not good enough to just be on student council.”

Ramaswamy was attempting to transition from “preschool to President of the United States,” according to Figaro, who observed this.

“Have you performed any acts of kindness that didn’t directly benefit you? It’s just a straightforward inquiry,” Figaro said.

I have done a few minor acts of service, but they are so insignificant that I don’t even want to brag about them. Yet, yes. Have I offered my services to this nation? I have, Ramaswamy acknowledged.

He was reassured by the hosts that it wasn’t bragging and that it was actually the entire purpose of the conversation. In high school, Ramaswamy claimed, he helped at a nearby hospital.

“Why did I do it in high school, if I’m being completely honest? Since you can actually enroll in a decent college when you graduate, that was part of the reason, to be brutally honest with you, Ramaswamy added.

Figaro remarked, perplexed, “So it was about you—so it was about self.”

On The Breakfast Club’s YouTube channel, the entire interview is available to view.
